Accessibility Statement

Bridges from School to Work is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should have equal access to the information and services we provide online.

Our commitment

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. The known gaps we had been tracking are now closed, and we set out what we have and have not verified under current status below.

Accessibility features

  • Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
  • ARIA labels and roles for interactive elements
  • Text and background colors that meet AA contrast ratios, checked across every page
  • Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes
  • Alt text for meaningful images
  • Captions turned on by default on embedded videos
  • A text transcript beneath every video on the site
  • Relay service guidance beside our phone numbers, so no contact path requires a voice call

Current status

We audit this site against WCAG 2.1 AA. Rather than claim full conformance, we publish where we actually stand. As of July 2026:

  • Color contrast: resolved. Every text and background pair on the site now meets the AA threshold, verified page by page across the whole site.
  • Keyboard navigation: resolved. Every interactive element can be reached and operated by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Testing method. Our checks so far have been automated, which covers roughly a third of the WCAG criteria. We have not yet completed a manual review with screen reader users, so there may be barriers we have not found. If you hit one, please tell us using the contacts below.
