Each year, Richard Marriott is joined by a celebrity headliner in hosting the Bridges from School to Work Gala in Washington, D.C. The event brings together business and community leaders from across the country to celebrate our successes, honor youth achievement and raise critical funds to help Bridges serve even more young people in the year ahead. It is our most important fundraiser of the year!
In the context of a pandemic and nationwide labor shortages, Bridges has never been more essential. Your generosity fuels this important work—helping young adults with disabilities find a path to a brighter future through competitive employment.
After two years of hosting the Gala virtually, we are planning to gather in person this year on Wednesday, June 8, at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC. That night Mr. Marriott will be joined by the event’s co-chair Scott Barghaan, VP and General Manager, Travel and Hospitality Vertical, Salesforce. Our stage host for the evening will be Richard Lui, acclaimed anchor and journalist, NBC News/MSNBC. There will also be a special performance by Jershika Maple, Top 5 Finalist on NBC’s The Voice, Season 21. This year’s Premier and Leadership Circle Sponsors will have the opportunity to join Mr. Marriott at the VIP Reception and meet our 2022 Bridges Gala Co-Chair and celebrity entertainers.
We are grateful for the many companies and individuals who have already pledged their support. Please plan to join us for this fun and inspiring evening; you’ll be making a real difference in the lives of the young people Bridges serves across the country.
You may submit your sponsorship payment via check, ACH, or credit card. For further information or if you have any questions, please contact the Gala Team at (202) 719-8057 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

2021 Virtual Bridges Gala
Though 2020 forced us to confront obstacles, Bridges From School to Work was more committed than ever to serve its young adults and provide them with a brighter future. Adapting to the circumstances, we hosted a virtual Gala on the evening of June 15, 2021. Our event co-chairs, Richard E. Marriott and Steve King celebrated the Magic of Bridges, featuring Michael Carbonaro, magician and creator of The Carbonaro Effect.
More than 400 guests attended, raising over $1.53M to ensure that Bridges can continue to provide young adults with opportunities for employment.
